Educator’s Day for Indian Academicians

National Instruments, a technology pioneer and leader in graphical system design for test, control and embedded design is back with Educator’s Day 2008, this time in a new Avataar. The annual technical forum for academicians in India is in its 7th year and is taking place on 21st November 2008 from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm, at The Leela Palace, Bangalore.
This free one day conference will focus on increasing the employability of science and engineering graduates by enhancing the quality of their education by exposing them to Graphical System Design techniques – a state-of-the-art way to effectively teach and learn basic and advanced engineering concepts using the graphical programming platform.
Educator’s Day, starting this year, has a team of young academicians on the organizing committee who will plan and execute Educator’s Day 2008 on the theme of ‘Nurturing Innovation and Creativity Engineering (NICE) Education’. “The conference is the ideal platform for educators and academicians to share innovative approaches to solve technical teaching challenges. This year, with Educator’s Day we are attempting to not only bridge the gap between Industry and Academia, but also reverse the traditional route by providing an opportunity to young academicians who are also committed towards improving the quality of engineering education, to run the show,” said Jayaram Pillai, Managing Director for IndRA (India, Russia & Arabia), National Instruments.
The young committee of academicians includes Dr. Alex Zacharaiah, Prof. Githanjali, Prof. Gopi Krishna Rao, Prof. Kalpana. Dr. Kulanthaivel, Prof. Latha, Dr.Mathivan, Prof. Sheshachalam, Prof. Shilpa and Prof. Thirunavukarasu.

The conference is targeted at the Engineering faculty, Science Faculty, Academicians and Research Scholars. Over 500 faculty members from Science and engineering streams across India are expected to participate in the event.
