Ecityindia.com is the portal which offers to buy the products which you will order on their portal. This should be handy for people who have no time or do not like visiting market place. Hungry and you do not want to go out! Order from around 120 restaurants on their website.

These guys seems to have kept security as the first concern. As they allow to make purchase only with your own credit card. If your first time purchase is a large sum then they even ask you to sign a purchase agreement to authorize the order. Ecityindia support secure socket layer (SSL) for secure transactions. Basically what they have tied up with various vendors. Once you made the purchase, they ship the goods from the vendors location to your destination. They claim to send the goods typically within 48 hours. However, be careful to enter your address properly. One can cancel their order by filling up a cancel form. Customers even have the right to refuse goods once it reaches their door. In such cases they will receive refunds only for merchandise. So service charge is extra. In fact they charge 2 percent extra from the mrp.

The founder of this site is Arun Sundaram. He said capitalized on the idea that people may not like standing on the queue or do not want to spend too much while shopping.

Blrmoms.com claims to be a social networking site for moms of Bangalore. Once you sign-up you can ask questions, advice and associate with Blrmoms in various ways. The site offers questions & answers section, blogs, groups, tools like pregnancy due date chart, vaccine schedule etc. In the groups section one can create a group like baby feeding etc. They also organize for members to meet up often.

So is this website only for Bangalore moms? No, it is open to anybody from grand parents to father who cares for mom. The website was started by Bhavani Raman a techie and mother of two. She said that unavailability of information related to moms has prompted her to start with Chennaimoms.com and then a year later Blrmoms.com was launched.

As of now the site seems to be non commercial with no ads, sales etc. But we will have to wait and see how long it can be self funded and non money maker. Because the cost input will continue to rise. If they can offers really good content and service then at some point of time they can have paid membership. Well, then they will have to create premium sections.
