U6 series from ASUS forms their premium notebook(laptop) segment. Recently, they have launched the U6S notebook which runs on Intel Centrino Due processor technology. The notebook U6S is a compact 12 inch widescreen comes with built in webcam, exlusive softwares from ASUS (image capturing and recording), privacy protection, wire free connectivity, live video communication, 3g wireless connection etc. It also comes with Windows Vista OS, Nvidia GeForce 9300GS with 256 MB VRAM, DDR2 667 MHz RAM (expandable upto 2 GB), hard disk (upto 250 GB), 8 in one card reader, 3.5G HSDPA, fingerprint authentication, 4 USB ports, 1 HDMI, phone jack, The device has been priced in India at Rs 92,000 exluding taxes. In Europe U6S may be available at 1,999 EURO (or about $2,834).

Low cost product are admired anywhere in the world and if it is bundled with good features and durability then what else we need. This is the line of laptop products that Asustek from Taiwan has bought to market. In India, when they launched Eee PC in 2007, it created a new line customers for itself. However, the a few features were a bit dodgy like the keyboard which looked more of a kids game console. This 7 inch PC retailed in India for Rs 18000. However, the new line of PCs like the Eee PC 1000H is 10 inch display, have almost industry standard keyboard and weighs around 1.4 kg. This is almost the same as the much acclaimed Apple MacBook Air, which they claimed to be the thinnest laptop ever. Eee PC 1000H retails in India at Rs 29,990 this is almost 2 -3 times lesser than most laptops of its category.
