In Bangalore BSNL is the only 3G service provider. BSNL launched 3G on 20/02/2010. You may call 9400024365. 3G service from BSNl offers video all, mobile TV, speed upto 7.2 mbps etc. Apart from BSNL the only other operator who offers 3G services is MTNL ( operates in Mumbai and Delhi). The bidding process for 3G services are on and competition is just hotting up. 3G technology has found wide acceptance and telecom operators see big gain by providing data services.
From the business prospective big handset makers like Ericssion, Nokia etc and other network developers will gain in the long run and wireless providers, 2G service providers, land-line cable connections are expected to lose. Technology changes so fast in the internet and mobile domain that one set of technology hardly gets chance to settle. With 3G yet to consolidate, 4G is already making news. The history of 3G service dates back to 2001 when NTT Docomo of japan launched a test network. Yes, the same Docomo guys who partnerted with Tata for Docomo sims in India.
As a landline user of BSNL I have received privileged customer offer of free 3G connection with following benefits:
1. Free 50 ins of Local/STD video calls
2. Free 500 MB of data download to access internet, BSNL live portal, watch mobile TV etc.
3. Free subscription to mobile TV for 1 month
4. 180 days of validity
5. Talk value of Rs 20Looks really attractive. Also, you can make video calls for 30 paisa per minute. If you are a BSNL landline user, may be you can avail this offer by calling 9400024365 before March 31st, 2010. You may also send an sms CUP your landline # to 9448077777 and BSNL representative will contact you to activate 3G connection.
