Project IGI 2 (Covert Strike) is a Sad Game!
Project IGI series is an old game. The first part Project IGI: I Am Going in was first released in 1998. Then came Project IGI 2: Covert Strike in 2003. I completed all the stages of Project IGI back in 2006 and liked it. But could noy play IGI 2 as my computer then did not meet the requirements. Recently, I upgraded my computer and tried playing IGI 2. At first look I really liked the graphics of IGI 2. It also has more stages that is you can play more. But as I started playing my enthusiasm started to decline.
I would say it is an unfair game. Fire power of enemies are unproportionate, less choice of weapons (not more than 4 at any given time), not allowing to save unlimited times etc. It allows you to save untill the charge of the battery lasts which will not allow you to save you more than 4 – 5 times. With such overpowering weapons the enemies have it is essential to have unlimited saving option.
In such a situation, you can look forward to cheat codes. However, most of the cheat codes provided online are not working. I have found only one of them working:
To unlock all the stages of the games press [ctrl]+[Alt]+[F9] at the same time on the main menu of Project IGI 2. One more cheat I have found. You can edit the settings.qvm file in the folder PC/common/ai/, which will make you invisible to the soilders except tanks and snipers. Download the settings file and replace it in the above folder. Then start your game, enjoy the graphics and play massacare. However, this will not be thrilling without fair resistance. This why I felt over experience of Project IGI 2: Covert Strike is sad.
Note: Due to good graphics it also demands good hardware configuration. Check the system requirements.
