Whenever we think that Apple has lost it, Apple hits back with something extra ordinary. After the Mac computers, when it was Windows all over and many believed that it was the end of road for Apple, it rebounded with the now very popular series of ipod, Ipod touch and iPhone. It is now a few years since the first iPod was launched. As people were anticipating what next! Apple announced the arrival of iPad.

What is iPad?

iPad is a tablet PC. It has been stationed in between smart phones and laptops. The design is awesome, as usual with Apple. It is a sleek, half-inch thick tablet computer with a 9.7-inch touchscreen.

It can play games, movies, songs etc. Also, one can read books for iBook introduced by apple.

How much iPad cost?

The starting price is $499 for 16 GB. That is very economical in its class and the features it provides. Wi-fi + 3G enabled versions cost more.

One can use Youtube, Google maps, itunes etc.

Features of iPad

Connectivity – wi -fi + 3G enabled/wi-fi connectivity, mails, chat and internet browsing using Safari browser, Ebooks and book publishing via iBook, maps, iWork software (can be purchased from App store) etc. It is available in three storage capacities – 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB. Apple claimed an unbelievable battery life of 10 hours at full usage and one month standby.

There are other tablet PCs like HP Slate, Asus Eee Tablet, Notion Ink tablet which will pose good competition to iPad. But the pricing of iPad was a blower. Competitors may be forced to slash prices.

The biggest turn off of iPad is that is it do not support HDMI connectivity. That is you will not be able to connect it to your TV. Neither does it have a USB port. This means we cannot connect any device to iPad.
