Browsers saves the history of the websites you visit for better organization or if you need to check anything site/page back ( i.e history). I am sure you might have noticed that when you put a letter in the address bar of your browser it gives a couple of options. This is because it has saved the history of the sites you have visited and shows as a drop down menu of sites with which the first letter matches. This options will show up if here is some history in the browser or history saving is enabled. Most Popular browsers like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari does it. Lets check how to delete search engine history in each one of them.

1. Mozilla Firefox: In Firefox just below the title bar on the right hand side, you will find the menu bar. Look for History and click on it. Now select “Show all history” from the drop down menu. The history is shown in the format today, yesterday, last 7 days and months. To delete you can just select them using your mouse click and then press the delete button from the keyboard. Or you can select and right click on the options and then select delete from the menu window.

2. Internet Explorer: Same way in IE under the title bar, you will find the menu bar on the right hand side. Please click on View and select “Explorer bar” and the select history. You can also use the shortcut of Ctrl + H to view the history. In IE history is shown in the format starting from today till the last day of the current week with day name. Followed by last week, 2 weeks ago and 3 weeks ago. To delete the history in IE select the options and press delete button on your keyboard. You can also select and right click on the options and then select delete from the menu window.

3. Opera: Same way in opera you will have to select “Tools” in the menu bar and select “History”. You can also use the shortcut ctrl + Shift + H. In Opera history is shown in the format Today, yesterday, earlier this week, earlier this months and Older. So here you can select you wish and delete.

4.Safari: In safari things are little different. Here, to delete history you will have to click on the round kind of flower with a drop down arrow on the extreme right just below the red x button. Now select the History option. Now like before, you can just select and delete as you wish.

5. Google Chrome: Chrome followed almost the same design architecture of Safari. So in Chrome to you will have to click on the tool symbol with a drop down arrow just below the x symbol (used to closed a window). Now select “History”. Here you will see a link “Delete history for this day” or the like. Click on the link to delete.
